WHAT DOES THE TEST INVOLVE?

The test developed by Mayflower College of Plymouth (UK) is divided into 3 parts:

  1. Interview: a brief interview with the examiner is conducted where you will have to talk about your job, aviation etc., in a general context.
  2. Interactive description: the examiner will make you listen to a series of recordings in an aeronautical context. The candidate must then repeat and discuss the content of the recordings.
  3. Description and discussion: you will be shown photographs in an aeronautical context and will have to describe the situation. The examiner will then lead a discussion on more general themes.

The test will be recorded and assessed within 10 working days. The staff of native speakers of Mayflower College of Plymouth (UK) will guarantee the standard and perform spot checks on tests which have been rated by the local examiners. The certificates will be sent to the school where the test took place.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I DON’T AGREE WITH THE TEST RESULT?

The process of “Appeal” allows the candidate who is convinced that he or she did not receive an adequate assessment of his true knowledge to request another evaluation. In this case, it’s up to another examiner to assess the recording of a test. The request must be made by the candidate in writing not later than one month from the date of issue of the test result. This procedure is subject to a new test fee which will be refunded only in the case where the new test result is higher than the first test. In the event of an equal rating or a lower one, the result confirmed will be the first one and there can be no refund.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE APPONTMENT?

In case the candidate does not arrive to the booked appointment or if he or she arrives more than half an hour late, the right to do the test will be revoked for that session and the candidate will lose the amount he or she paid to take the test. The candidate will then have to pay again the fee in order to be able to take the test and will have to set a new date. If the candidate notifies in advance of the impossibility to participate because of a physical ailment, he or she shall have the right to obtain a partial refund of the cost of the test. The amount deducted will be equal to 50% of the cost of the test as reimbursement of administrative expenses incurred by the organization.

CAN I TAKE THE TEST MORE THAN ONCE?

Yes, you can take the test multiple times and there is no minimum time between one test and the next. It is also possible to re-take the test if the candidate is not satisfied with his or her result. In both cases a new subscription must be paid and the full test must be paid for again.
